Hon. Judge Dr. Deo John Nangela

 Mr Justice Deo John Nangela (PhD), an Alumni of University of Dar es Salaam, University of London (SOAS) and University of Cape Town, is currently a sitting Judge of the High of the United Republic  of Tanzania (Commercial Division) .

He was appointed to that position in 2019, and brings to the Court a wealth of knowledge on competition and commercial law, having served as the Director of Compliance and Legal Services at the Fair Competition Commission of Tanzania (FCC. Prior to joining the Fair Competition Commission, Dr. Nangela lectured as the University of Dar es Salaam School of Law, where he taught law for decade (From 2002 t0 2012). He, as well, has served in other position within the government of the United Republic of Tanzania, including being a State Attorney- (Civil litigation) in the Civil and International Law department, Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, United Republic of Tanzania.  Dr. Deo John Nangela is an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania, with Roll No. 2931 and A non-practicing Member of Tanganyika Law Society (TLS). He is also a Certified Directors (M-IoDT278), in accordance with the tenets of the Institute of Directors in Tanzania (IoDT), a unique member-based of Tanzania’s organizations. DR. Nangela is as well a Lay Pastor at the Ubungo Christian Centre (UCC), a local Tanzania Assemblies of God Church, where he serves as the Director of Evangelism and Missions Department. He has authored and c0-authored several journal articles and published books and chapter in books, one of the books being `E-commerce & e-contract Law, Reach Publishers, 2018, and, in the year 2020, he co-authored a book on Urban Planning Law and Development in Tanzania.
